Like most Dad’s do I get carried away
Caught up in the space and time in a crazy mixed-up way
On one occasion, When my little girl was two
I threw her high up in the air - not the smartest thing to do
No I don’ t know what I was thinking
But for sure I heard her scream
And her mother ran to see just what was happening
When I caught her like I knew I would
And set her gently to the ground
I was proud to see the frown she had
Was turning upside down
And she said

(Chorus)
One more time, Daddy, one more time
To kiss, embrace, to teach or play
They are the memories made today
And they are what she’ll take with her someday
Captured in the hearts of hers and mine
One more time

Well Mom said “No” - I guess some things you can’t do twice
Like see the first steps of your baby girl or teach your son to ride his bike
They won't always want to sleep with you in bed
One day they will figure out there's more room in theirs instead
Well I can’t figure all that happens
It seems they grow up all to soon
Indeed the hands of time are sweeping over me and you
All these few and precious moments
Lead me to understand
That there are some things you can’t do twice
But other things you can
‘Cause they’ll say

One more time, Daddy, one more time
To kiss, embrace, to teach or play
They are the memories made today
And they are what they take with them someday
Captured in the hearts of theirs and mine
One more time
One more time

One more time, Dad, one more time
Just kiss, embrace, teach or play
Make a memory today
It is all we’ll have with us some day
What’s been captured in the hearts of yours and mine
One more time
One more time
